Dr. Rachel Gottlieb

Dr. Rachel Gottlieb creates lasting relationships with her clients and patients, built on a foundation of compassion and confidence.  She is trusted by the industry’s top equine professionals and veterinarians for her judgment and reliability. She found a true professional partner in Dr. Mark Revenaugh when she interned with his practice, sharing his passion for seeing patients compete successfully and clients achieve their goals.

A native of Cleveland, Ohio, she began riding and caring for horses at age four and never wavered from her childhood dream of becoming an equine veterinarian. She developed an early interest in equine lameness and diagnostic imaging under the tutelage of one of the world's pioneers in diagnostic ultrasound, “Doc” Ron Genovese. She graduated with honors in animal science from the University of Massachusetts, received her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from the University of California-Davis, where she was also selected for the prestigious Large Animal Ultrasound Fellowship (one of two such training programs in the nation).

As the only fellowship trained ultrasonographer in the Pacific Northwest, Dr. Gottlieb consults on complex lameness cases, and teaches veterinarians nationally and internationally on the use of ultrasound in diagnosis and in rehabilitative therapies.

Dr. Gottlieb frequently travels to horse shows to provide point-of-care service when the stakes are high. She was an Associate Team Veterinarian for the US Eventing Team, performing ultrasound examinations on all team horses as a part of the selection criteria for the 2014 World Equestrian Games. She served as Team Veterinarian for the USEA Area VII Young Riders Eventing Team. Dr. Gottlieb is currently on the board of the National Alliance of Equine Practitioners (NAEP). She also served as President of the Northwest Equine Practitioners Association (NEPA) and was a reviewer for the AAEP Scientific Review Committee. Dr. Gottlieb enjoys teaching and has been honored to speak on numerous occasions for both client and veterinarian education events.

Dr. Gottlieb actively rides and competes in dressage with her Dutch Warmblood mare, Justice. In 2024, they earned the USDF championship for region 6 adult amateurs at first level and were ranked 4th in the nation! Dr. Gottlieb also enjoys exploring the local food scene with her husband Daniel, and daughters Lilly and Devyn.

Dr. Mark Revenaugh is the owner of NWEP. He is a renowned expert in the diagnosis and treatment of lameness and performance issues, attracting clients from all over the northwest. His fascination with equine medicine and competitive performance began long before opening his specialty clinic in the Oregon.

Though he studied riding under eventing icon Bruce Davidson, and spent several years in human medical research, his passion was always focused on helping owners and horses maximize their performance potential.

He pursued that passion at the University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine, graduating in 1991. Dr. Revenaugh worked with some of the leading sport horse veterinarians in the world, including Dr. Kent Allen, Dr. Haynes Stevens, and Dr. Brendon Furlong. During this time, Dr. Revenaugh authored the first license for use of scintigraphy (bone scan) in the state of New Jersey in 1996. In 1997, Dr. Revenaugh took his first trip as official USET Team Veterinarian, traveling to Germany for a pairs Driving World Championship. Dr. Revenaugh has been honored to serve as a Team Veterinarian or Assistant Team Veterinarian since that time. Duties have included selecting, treating and advising elite level professionals in the equine industry, maintaining health and maximizing performance.

Dr. Revenaugh moved to the Pacific Northwest in 2002 where he intended to create a small and unique practice to work exclusively with equine performance issues and lameness. The clinic quickly grew into one of the premier equine sports medicine practices in the western United States reflecting Dr. Revenaugh's investment in advanced technologies, imaging modalities, and leading edge therapies. Dr. Revenaugh has also served as the Director of Ignite for Equine Athletes (formerly High Performance Sports Group) since 2013 in an effort to help further not only the sport, but the profession as well.

His greatest professional joy remains being part of a winning team; helping horses and owners make good decisions to advance equine health and maximize performance.

Dr. Revenaugh lives on a farm in Mulino with his wife and 2 children. They enjoy outdoor activities including bicycling, camping, and exploring this beautiful region.

Dr. Allison Farley

Performance, soundness, and longevity in equine athletes are at the center of Dr. Allison Farley’s clinical work. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology from Seattle University, where she competed in volleyball as a Division I student-athlete, before completing post-baccalaureate studies in Animal Sciences and receiving her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Oregon State University’s Carlson College of Veterinary Medicine.

Dr. Farley completed her internship at Pacific Crest Equine in Exeter, California, followed by four years practicing on the elite hunter jumper circuit along the East Coast. Based in Wellington, Florida, she provided year-round care for top-level sport horses at the Winter Equestrian Festival (WEF) in the winter season and while traveling to major shows throughout the Northeast, Kentucky, and Canada in the summer season. Her professional experience working with international level horses and riders has given her advanced expertise in performance evaluation, lameness diagnostics, and maintaining equine athletes at peak condition.

A Pacific Northwest native from Portland, Oregon, Dr. Farley grew up competing on the West Coast hunter jumper circuit, giving her a unique perspective as both veterinarian and rider when managing sport horses. She has recently returned to riding and is excited to continue pursuing the sport alongside her veterinary career. Outside of work and riding, she enjoys spending time with her two cats, Clyde and Isla, rock concerts and the Seattle music scene, and bowling.

Staff

Sierra Parshall

Sierra was essentially raised in a barn in Monroe, WA, surrounded by horses. Her mother specialized in barn maintenance and management, working closely with trainers, and was actually bumped by a horse while pregnant with Sierra, precipitating Sierra’s birth just hours later!

That’s how Sierra explains her passion for sport horses, first competing in eventing and then dressage.

Currently, she owns, cares for and competes in dressage with her thoroughbred cross, Dallan, and earned her silver medal in 2024.

She worked as an equine veterinary assistant for several years before joining the team at Seattle Equine Performance, where she now splits her time between the office doing administrative work and the barns serving horses and owners she has come to know and love.

Shelby Campbell

Shelby says her obsession with horses began with the toy kind, but progressed quickly to “real” ones as she started riding at age 6. She grew up in the Arlington/Stanwood area and after attending horse camp at that young age, began weekly riding lesson, getting her first horse at age 12. As a teen, she began showing on the hunter/jumper circuit and dabbled in eventing through Training level.

She attended the NW School of Animal Massage to become certified in Maintenance and Performance massage therapy for horses, but pivoted to training horses and teaching riders. She was an assistant trainer at a barn in Arlington, and now manages a boarding facility while still handling some training and sales of horses. As a veterinary assistant with Seattle Equine Performance, she says she loves the wealth of knowledge that comes with the job and the relationships.

Shelby  owns an off-the-track thoroughbred gelding named Fez and a POA pony gelding named Wilbur, enjoys trail rides and hunter paces and local schooling shows. She and her husband share their home with 3 dogs and a cat.
